Known to many as a long-serving member of Ramsey Town Council, Roger was delighted to be elected as district councillor for Ramsey and Bury ward in May 2022. He had two reasons to celebrate as he also took on the role of Mayor of Ramsey at around the same time. Roger is one of three Conservative ward councillors alongside Steve Corney and Jeff Clarke.
Having lived locally for over 30 years, Roger is a familiar figure as an active volunteer with a number of community-based groups and charities. This ranges from driving the Community Bus throughout the surrounding villages to donning his wellies and protective gloves whenever a clean-up is needed be it flooded ditch or unwanted litter.
After his election he told us: "I feel privileged that so many people have placed their trust in me and my co-councillors to continue the good work that is helping Ramsey thrive. There are many positive things happening here right now and I am pleased to have this chance to play a more direct role in seeing the area get the support it deserves as one of the biggest towns in Huntingdonshire.
