We are delighted to invite you to our 2nd Meet the Author Luncheon, with special guest Lady Isabella Naylor-Leyland. The event takes place at Milton Golf Club in Peterborough on May 27th, just days ahead of the nationwide Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
We are privileged to welcome Lady Isabella who will share the story of how 'The Windsor Diaries: 1940-1945' came to be written, based on the private papers of her late aunt, Alathea Fitzalan Howard, who lived alongside the young Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret (..the naughty one...) at Windsor Castle. Aged 16-22 she lived nearby in Windsor Great Park where her diary was said to have been her constant companion.
Her unique observations, previously unseen, provide a bird's eye view of Royal wartime life, an honest and candid picture of the Royal teenage sisters with whom she became firm friends, often with the King and Queen and their governess Crawfie, in attendance.
'The Windsor Diaries', a former Spectator Book of the Year, will be available for sale in association with Waterstones, Peterborough. Lady Isabella has kindly agreed to sign individual copies after lunch.
Tickets cost just £30.00 per person for a two-course lunch. The bar will open from 12 noon... please note Milton operates a cashless bar. The event is open to all, not solely to Conservative Party members.
