First elected as Cambridgeshire county councillor in 2017, Adela was re-elected for Ramsey and Bury division in May 2021. She lives in Ramsey Forty Foot and is an active member of Ramsey Town Council, where she was a former deputy mayor. She is also district councillor for Warboys ward, which since September 2023 has been part of Huntingdon constituency.
Reflecting her particular interests, Adela is a member of the county council adults and health and communities, social mobility and inclusion committees. More recently she was also made a member of the county council planning committee, strategy and resources and the Pension Fund Committee.
During the COVID pandemic she set up an initiative called Winter Warmers which saw over 40 volunteers using their lockdown at home to knit and crochet blankets, scarves and children's garments using donated wool. While the volunteers put away their needles for the summer, Adela re-visits this project each winter.
