Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire, will once again be presenting local schools with computer equipment as part of Tesco’s ‘Computers for Schools’ scheme. Mr Vara will be making the presentation at Tesco’s Extra in Hampton Hargate on Friday 25th November 2011.
This year the schools benefiting from the programme are: Hampton Hargate Primary School, Hampton Vale Primary School, Fourfields Primary School and William De Yaxley C of E Junior School.
Since 1992 Tesco has provided UK schools with access to around 4 million free pieces of equipment worth £170 million through a voucher collection scheme. Last year, 28 schools and clubs in North West Cambridgeshire collected a total of 145,897 vouchers, with 20 of them ordering equipment worth over £4,000.
Mr Vara said:
“Once again, I am delighted to take part in this very successful initiative. I am glad to see that more schools will be benefiting this year as I know that the new equipment will be very useful and it will make a difference to the quality of education.”
